Being released is one of the hardest moments in a young player's football life, and most families are left without a plan. The Released Player Care Plan gives the player an honest assessment, a clear direction and structured support towards the next appropriate football environment.
The moment after
The phone call
stops. Then what?
Most released players are given a short conversation and very little else. There is rarely an independent view of where the player actually is, what should be worked on first, or which football environment would genuinely suit them next.
Families are then left to make significant decisions quickly, often emotionally, and usually without anyone in football helping them think it through.
The Released Player Care Plan exists to replace that silence with structure. It is not a promise of a club. It is a professional process that gives the player the clearest possible picture and the strongest realistic route forward.
The plan
Six stages, built around the individual player.

Understanding the release
A confidential conversation with the player and parent or guardian. What was said, what was not said, how the player has taken it and what the family currently understands about the decision.

Honest football assessment
Independent observation of the player in training, in a competitive match or through full-match footage, so the next decisions are based on current evidence rather than assumption.

A written development plan
Strengths, areas for development, priority actions and the type of football environment that realistically suits the player right now.

Presentation and evidence
Where appropriate, a professional Player CV, dedicated match filming and footage that presents the player credibly to the clubs and environments being approached.

Appropriate football outreach
Considered contact with suitable clubs, academies and football environments, alongside trial preparation and support through the process.

Ongoing review
Follow-up conversations as the player settles into a new environment, with further review points agreed as the situation develops.

Families are rarely helped by false reassurance. We say what we see and what we believe is realistic.
The person before the player
Release affects confidence, identity and enjoyment. The football plan only works if the player is in the right place to use it.
Evidence before outreach
We do not approach clubs until there is something genuine to present. Credibility protects the player.
Pace that suits the family
Some players need a new environment quickly. Others need a period of development first. Both are legitimate.
For clubs and academies
Refer a released player.
We work with academy staff, coaches and club welfare officers who want their released players to leave with somewhere to go next. Referrals are handled discreetly and the family remains in control of whether they take the support forward.
